Who We Are
The MidSouth District is comprised of Nazarene Churches in Middle/Western Tennessee and in the entire state of Mississippi. Formerly, the Mississippi and the Tennessee Districts functioned separately, Tennessee existing since 1912 and Mississippi since 1914. In 2015 the two districts merged to form the MidSouth District. Over 110 churches are affiliated with the MidSouth District Church of the Nazarene.
The local church is the focus of the district’s ministry. And, we function with the philosophy reflected in the following leadership principles…
- The whole is greater than the sum of its parts (Aristotle).
- None of us is a smart as all of us (Ken Blanchard).
- If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together (African Proverb).
- Synergy without strategy is a waste of resources.
The MidSouth District emphasizes the importance of local churches working in partnership to accomplish God’s mission in the world. Together we seek to participate with God in His mission to restore all creation.
On our website you can discover our mission, our churches, and our leadership. You will also find information regarding our ministries and events.
All of us on the MidSouth District are grateful to be serving together. We dare to believe that God’s kingdom can come and His will can be accomplished through the wonderful people of the MidSouth District.
Welcome to the MidSouth.
